With an extensive database of nearly every TV model, just select your TV from the list and your speaker configuration will be automatically determined. Now you are ready to begin the design process. When your design is complete, one of our frame designer specialists will cross check all of the information for accuracy and your frame is ready for production. A perfect fit is guaranteed or we will remake a new frame.

3D Television Compatibility

If you are planning on taking advantage of the emergence in 3D televisions, there are some important considerations to make regarding television concealment options and what TV model you select. With no standards developed just yet for 3D glasses, each manufacturer is taking their own proprietary approach. The 1st and many 2nd Generation 3D TV's used all infrared (IR) technology for communication between the glasses and the TV, but as this technology evolves some manufacturers are being wise and changing their approach to use Bluetooth communication instead. The difference here is that IR requires line-of-sight between the glasses and the TV much like most conventional remote controls on the market. With Bluetooth, the communication does not require line-of-sight.

What does this mean for you?  

Well the simple answer is, if you intend to use 3D glasses to watch TV .... look for a TV model that uses Bluetooth technology for the glasses to communicate with the television. One example is Samsung who starting in 2011 began introductions 3D TVs that utilize Bluetooth. Other manufacturers appear to be rapidly embracing this approach as well. Be careful though, many new smart TV's use bluetooth for other things like communication with you mobile phone and other devices. This does not necessarily mean that the glasses communicate via Bluetooh as well. The manual for the glasses you wish to purchase should indicate the communication method. 

One additional note is that we have evaluated some third party manufacturers attempting to develop their own solutions, but we have not found any of these to work in such a manner that would be compatible with our television framing solutions. For now, we suggest sticking to the TV manufacturers' glasses as long as they are Bluetooth.

NOTE: This infrared relay system works with all US television models. However, with some LG & Zenith television models, if using the device in battery mode you will need to press the power button twice to turn the TV on/off. This only applies in battery mode on these two brands. This device has not been tested on televisions from different countries. The warranty for the infrared relay system does not extend to non-U.S. televisions.
